Explore the beauty of authentic South African fabric with the Shweshwe Fabric Sample Pack – Elephant.
This curated set includes 16 different fabric samples drawn from across the Shweshwe collection, allowing you to explore colours, patterns and traditional designs before selecting fabrics for your projects.
 
Each swatch is cut from genuine Three Cats Shweshwe, the original indigo dyed cotton produced in South Africa and recognised for its distinctive patterns and heritage.
 
Ideal for quilters, sewists and makers who want to see and feel the fabric before purchasing larger quantities. Use the samples to plan colour combinations, test design ideas or simply enjoy the variety of classic Shweshwe prints.
 
Half of the samples are rinsed and half remain unrinsed, allowing you to experience the texture difference created by the traditional starching process used in authentic Shweshwe production. Historically achieved using potato starch, this finish is a defining characteristic of true Shweshwe and should not be confused with waxed African fabrics.
 
Each sample measures approximately 21 cm × 24 cm and the set is presented in a boxed format, making it easy to store, compare and reference when planning projects.
